Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is an absolute beast of a coaster. Gwazi is not only one of the top 7 coasters here, but this ride is in most ride enthusiast Top 10 coaster in all the world. As the world’s fastest and steepest hybrid coaster, Iron Gwazi combines the raw power of a wooden structure with the smoothness and intensity of steel track. This colossal ride stands at a towering height of 206 feet and features a mind-boggling 91-degree drop, sending you hurtling towards the ground at speeds of up to 76 mph. With its 3,000 feet of track and a staggering 12 airtime moments, Iron Gwazi unleashes a relentless onslaught of twists, turns, inversions, and high-speed maneuvers that will leave you gripping your seat in exhilaration.

A few elements that make this ride extra special is the zero gravity stall and the “Death Roll”. Both elements are are similar to what you experience at the Velocicoaster at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. There is a constant debate on which coaster is the best in Florida. I recommend riding both and deciding for yourself.

SheiKra: one of the few dive coasters in the world.

If slow climbs to tall heights excites you, then your on the right ride. This steel dive coaster stands at a towering height of 200 feet. It begins with a slow climb to the top where a 90-degree vertical drop awaits you. Before you drop, the ride hangs over the edge, giving the riders a view of what is to come. As you plummet down at 70 MPH, you’ll experience weightlessness and heart-stopping excitement. SheiKra also boasts inversions, a water feature, and breathtaking views of the park and surrounding area. Brace yourself for the ultimate thrill on this iconic coaster.

Cheetah Hunt: The most popular of the coasters

Cheetah hunt is one of the most popular rides at Busch Gardens. It is a high-speed launch coaster inspired by the grace and agility of the fastest land animal. This multi-launch coaster takes you through three different launch points, simulating the bursts of speed that cheetahs are known for. With one inversion, a 100 foot drop, and a combination of wide-open stretches and tight corners, Cheetah Hunt offers a thrilling experience that is not as intense as the other top 7 coasters. Wait times are very high on this ride all day. If you plan to get on without a quick queue pass, get there early.

Montu: Experience Inverted Insanity

Montu is a suspended roller coaster that will test your limits with its intense maneuvers and inversions. Inspired by an ancient Egyptian warrior, this legendary ride is known for its relentless pace, seven inversions, and heart-pounding G-forces. With its smooth yet forceful movements, Montu provides an unforgettable sensation of flying as you twist, turn, and soar through the air. Brace yourself for inverted insanity on this iconic attraction. The G-forces on this coaster make some riders feel a little discombobulated after riding. Another complaint of this ride by some is because of the intensity, your head will bang on the over head restarint a little. Other than that, it is a fun ride and is really intense and a must for those who like loopy coasters.

Kumba: A Classic Coaster Thrill

Kumba, one of Busch Gardens’ most beloved coasters, has been entertaining guests since 1993. This iconic ride is renowned for its relentless intensity, featuring multiple inversions, high-speed drops, and a zero-gravity roll. With its smooth track, impeccable pacing, and exhilarating elements, Kumba remains a favorite among coaster enthusiasts. Prepare to be captivated by the sheer force and exhilaration of this classic thrill ride. This ride is comparible to The Hulk Coaster over at Universal Studios Islands of adventure. Most Coaster enthusiast do prefer Kumba layout more than the Hulk’s.

Tigris: Roar with the Tigers

This thrilling ride takes you through a series of inversions, drops, and high-banked turns, reaching speeds of up to 60 mph. The three launches propel you forward and backward, creating a sense of unpredictability and excitement. For those who are not expecting it, the most thrilling element is the slow cork screw turn that happens right after the secong launch forward. My first time riding this coaster, I thought something was wrong and that I was going to fall out. It was terrifying. But now that I am more familiar, it is actually one of my favorite rides in the park. Tigris is especially close to my heart because it is one of the few intense coasters I got to ride when I was a little heavier. For those larger riders, they do have extendors for the comfort collars.

Cobra’s Curse: Spin, Twist, and Defy Gravity

Cobra’s Curse is a unique spinning coaster that combines thrilling drops and inversions with an intriguing storyline. As you board your vehicle, you become part of an archaeological expedition that takes an unexpected turn. The ride includes both forward and backward motions, sudden spins, and unexpected encounters with the mythical serpent. Cobra’s Curse provides a family-friendly experience while still delivering a healthy dose of excitement and thrills. Because it is a family friendly coaster, beware of long lines that do form throught the day.
